Clayo is a new, student-led startup leading fun & engaging pottery workshops for Kids Birthday Parties, Girl Guides, Retirement Homes and more.
Our model is slightly different - we're mobile, meaning our instructors go to the customer's location (in the case of a birthday party, this is usually the customer's home). At this time, the role will require the instructor to only work on the weekend.
Note - this role requires you to have your own vehicle/consistent access to one.

Role Summary
*Note - past pottery experience is an asset, not a requirement. The pieces we make are very simple, and training will be provided.
We're looking for an enthusiastic and engaging Kids Birthday Party Facilitator / Instructor who lives in Ottawa - ideally a student.
This role involves guiding participants through our structured workshops, communicating back and forth with the parent, collecting payment, and setting/cleaning up.
The ideal candidate is funny, confident, will enjoy working with children and clay, and have the ability to control the dynamic of a group of kids.
To begin, bookings will only be scheduled on the weekend.
Requirements
- Must have your own vehicle / consistent access to one with a valid Driver's License.
- Must have full weekend availability
- Prior experience working with children is preferred (coach, camp instructor, tutor, etc)
- Strong public speaking skills
- Passion for pottery is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided.
Compensation
- Workshops last ~1 hour. Instructors are paid $100 per workshop. If 3 workshops are scheduled on Saturday, the instructor will earn $300 after they are complete.
- $175/month gas stipend
